With the Playtech US Deal with Parx Casino confirmed, a challenge in the US live dealer iGaming arena is looking imminent thanks to fresh hope a Playtech Live US studio could come online!
Playtech’s latest US-bound deal to extend its US footprint is with Greenwood Racing, which owns the Parx Casino. Currently, Parx online casinos are available in 3 out of the 5 states that operate regulated online casino gambling via strict state legislation. Parx also offers sports betting apps in Indiana.
Incidentally, Indiana state legislators recently submitted a bill to approve and regulate online casino operations, and it is highly likely this second run at a similar bill rejected a few ago will this time gain a landslide approval.
For Playtech, a partnership with Parx Casino gives Playtech, a UK-based firm, access to 3 existing online casino markets and would-be access to Indiana. In New Jersey, Playtech would tag onto the Ocean Casino/Parx Casino deal, while in Michigan the Parx Online casino already has approval, and will launch soon, while in Pennsylvania Parx Casino operates with a GAN/Kambi partnerships.
Michigan First Point of Call
To kick-start the new partnership, Playtech will begin its online casino journey into Michigan state where online casinos came online last month on the 22 January!
Parx Casino is about to open its online casino, sports, and poker via a Gun Lake Tribe remote gambling license. This is where a possible US Playtech Live studio could appear, and the quicker it gets up and running, the better as arch-rival on the live dealer game circuit, Evolution and Ezugi, are slow off the mark with no Michigan live dealer studio announced.
As for further expansion into other US states for Playtech, according to news reports, there are plans to move into Pennsylvania and New Jersey. However, the only concrete plans released are that Playtech is focusing on the Wolverine State for the time being.
Bullish Michigan Casinos: Playtech enters the Michigan US markets right on time. Already in the first 10 days of action, Michigan casinos have recorded over $42.7 million in revenue!
IGT US Partnership Deal
In late December last year, Playtech made its intentions clear: the US casino market is a focal point for the firm’s continued growth strategy after making a US-based deal with IGT.
Currently, IGT is the go-to firm for online slots in the country, while the firm also provides video slot titles in land-based casino environments. Yet, the deal does not appear to have instigated the introduction of the Playtech Live arm as hoped. Instead, there is new hope, and now we look to the latest deal with Parx Casino via Greenwood Racing that gives Playtech the chance to consider introducing its live dealer titles, poker, and sports betting software into the US.
Playtech Live has not specifically said that it will begin opening live casino tables in Michigan, and so for the time being, we wait!
