The light continues to spread around the world for Las Vegas-based iGaming powerhouse Light & Wonder. The leading king of slots and digital gaming entertainment has set its sights on new horizons, establishing operations in two prominent new markets.
In its latest endeavour, the online slot and live casino developer has entered Africa, the world’s fastest-growing GDP compared to all other continents. In particular, L&W has begun its journey in South Africa, a region we cover here on Livecasinocentral via our SA live casino page, which explains the country’s current iGaming status.
On top of its African debut, during 2023, L&W was busy across the global iGaming scene. The company also entered the Ontario iGaming market via a is the fifth live casino game developed to enter the US iGaming market via the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), which I have also covered below.

L&W and Authentic Gaming Live have passed for licensing to operate via a Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB). Other live dealer companies in the US include Ezugi in New Jersey and Stakelogic Live in Rhode Island, but neither of these live dealer brands operates in Michigan.

The Lights Switch on in South Africa
Light & Wonder entered a landmark partnership deal to provide its library of games for the South African online gaming market. Teaming up with local operator Hollywoodbets, Light & Wonder looks to grow its Southern African presence following regulatory approval to offer its content.

Light & Wonder is taking a targeted partnership approach for the Ontario market by aligning with innovative local developers. Studio partners like Bang Bang Games, Atlantic Digital and Pixiu Gaming give Playzido an inherently localised feel. It enables the creating games tailored specifically for Canadian players from the gameplay up.
That strategy shows commitment to offering unique gaming experiences not found anywhere else.
