A multi-state deal between 888 Holdings and Playtech in the US iGaming market is now firmly in place. 888Casino sites operating across the USA are now set to host Playtech live casino titles as well as RNG games in multiple states.
There is already a Playtech B2B supply deal in place for the 888Casino New Jersey iGaming and sports betting platform. The original agreement is fully vouched for via the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE), which is the New Jersey iGaming authority from which both brands hold a licence. However, both companies have now agreed to remain partners across multiple states.
The exact words in the official multi-state agreement announced by Playtech on the brand’s official news portal were ‘starting in New Jersey with other states to follow’.
Most likely, as 888Casino is also operating in Delaware, we will likely see a similar deal we saw with Evolution serving West Virginia iGaming platforms from its Pennsylvania live casino studio. In the case of Playtech, the assumption is Playtech will use one of its 2 US live casino studios to stream games to the Delaware iGaming market where the brand has been a chief supplier of casino games.
Way back in 2013, 888 Holdings PLC (LSE:888) signed a deal to operate in Delaware (1 of 6 states to allow iGaming) along with tech partner Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS) to become one of the principal suppliers in the state.
Shimon Akad, Playtech Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are proud to be supporting 888casino in delivering the very best online entertainment experience to its U.S. audience and we look forward to continuing this successful partnership with a market-leading operator.” – see the full Playtech news report here.
Playtech North Americas Live Casino Partnerships Give the brand a Strong Foothold
Playtech has signed multiple live casino partnerships with some of the most prestigious brands in North America. Currently, Playtech operates live casino studios in Michigan and New Jersey.
The software provider announced both live dealer operations in December 2021 under an agreement with Parx Interactive under the Play Gun Lake brand. There are also studios in Europe and Asia, most notably the Riga Live Studio which is the company’s largest while there is also a Zurich studio to supply the Swiss iGaming market, which is a very similar set-up to the US state-by-state iGaming markets.
With the Playtech live casino division’s willingness to invest in new live casino studios across the globe, the brand’s live dealer brand reach is growing considerably. Here are some of the most recent deals made to bring live casino across the North Americas.
- Ontario Canada (Northstar): In June this year, Playtech signed a deal with NorthStar (Ontario) to bring live casino and RNG games, which includes video slots, to the brand-new Ontario iGaming market. The deal followed the brand’s other slot development studio, Quickspin, into the newly opened Canadian provincial iGaming arena.
- Resorts (New Jersey): Playtech is now supplying resortscasino.com and mohegansuncasino.com in eh New Jersey iGaming market. The deal with Resorts brings live dealer games to the operator’s online casinos via the state-of-the-art Atlantic City Playtech Live Casino studio.
- Mexico Deal: Playtech supplies the chain of Betway online casinos via a multi-national deal made in May this year. With Betway already operating in Mexico, that’s yet another North American market where live casino players have access to Playtech’s live dealer portfolio.
- betPARX: In the online sports betting vertical, Playtech has a strong presence across multiple states in the US. Many of these states allow sports betting as the only form of online gambling. However, the betPARX deal was for the Parx brand in New Jersey in which the Playtech IMS platform and Player Account Management (PAM) system are now on the betPARX platform.
Playtech Awards: The North Americas region is yet another opportunity for top online gambling firms performing also in Europe to win more awards. And Playtech is once again regularly in the running. In the recent SBC 2022 Awards North America Playtech took down silver for the Platform Provider of the Year honour.
