As we approach the end of 2020, a new year is upon us and new milestones are being set by individuals and companies looking to make 2021 a prosperous year. Over in the Microgaming camp, the target is set, and that is for its huge progressive jackpot network to crash through the €1.5 billion jackpot payout marker.

The MPJN, which is the Microgaming Progressive Jackpot Network, dates to 1998–4 years after the brand established itself as an online casino developer. Back then the MPJN all began with a title called ‘Cash Splash’ and this same progressive jackpot slot is still online today. ‘Cash Splash’ was the start of what is to date a jackpot network responsible for over €1.25 billion in jackpot payouts, and a network that is closing in on €1.5 billion.

Microgaming is also well-known for its live dealer games distributed via its Canada, Argentina, and Philippines studios and its vast array of virtual table games and online video slots. Although Microgaming live casinos are not common in Europe because of an agreement made with Evolution in 2016, its live dealer games are still prevalent in Asian markets and Canada with its Playboy branded live extremely popular amongst the gentlemen table gamers out there.

Conversely, Microgaming online slots are seen across the globe and make up for the largest portfolio of slots in the world with over 400 titles. In fact, Microgaming was one of the very first developers to release online slots onto the market. In 1998 the brand released Golden Dragon, Pirates Paradise, Martian Money, Pharaoh’s Fortune and Trick or Treat followed by ‘Cash Splash’–the world’s first-ever progressive jackpot slot.

MPJN Currently Up to €1.25 billion

At this point in time, the MPJN is responsible for the largest jackpot payouts via online slots and mobile video slot gameplay. Some of the top titles in the Microgaming collection that regularly pay over €1 million for the main jackpot include King Cashalot, Major Millions, WoW Pot titles, and Mega Moolah titles. The largest jackpot ever paid out by a single progressive jackpot is €18,915,873.33 which happened back in October 2019 and it was courtesy of a Mega Moolah slot title.

Growth of Mega Moolah jackpot network a key strategy

The Mega Moolah progressive jackpot network is part of the MPJN. It began as just a solitary progressive slot title and ended up becoming the highest paying online slot in the history of the World Wide Web. It is also one of the most played jackpot slots online. To mark the slot’s success, Microgaming brought out more titles connected to the same mega Moolah progressive jackpot.

From Mega Moolah, there is now ‘Mega Moolah’ (the original), Atlantean Treasures, Absolootly Mad, Fortunium Gold, and the soon to be added Juicy Joker. With the collection of titles growing, more players are in search of Microgaming casinos with the Mega Moolah slot titles. Leo Vegas Casino, which recently added Pragmatic Play Live and Playtech Live alongside Evolution live tables,  also has Mega Moolah slot titles as well as other progressive jackpot titles from the MPJN.

Growth of the WoW Pot jackpot network

Microgaming didn’t just stop at Mega Moolah. The developer is also adding new online slots to its WoW Pot progressive jackpot network. The original WoW Pot game has now turned into 4 new titles which are Wheel of Wishes, Book of Atem, Sisters Oz, and African Legends.

With the growth of both networks, the idea is that more players will flock to the new titles. This will equate to faster-growing and larger jackpot wins for players, while the ‘Mega’ jackpots will also pay more often. This is not to mention an increase in the frequency of payouts from these slots’ ‘Mini’, ‘Minor’, and ‘Major’ jackpots on these slot games because each title has 4 jackpots! At this time there are 8 jackpots paid per minute, 477 per hour, and 11,437 per day according to Microgaming’s latest stats.

Now Microgaming is armed with 5 mega Moolah progressive jackpots and 4 WoW Pot slots, plus a collection of 14 other jackpot titles which include the famous ‘Roulette Royal’ title. We can expect a flurry of winning announcements coming out of Microgaming casinos. Each one will add to the current €1.25 billion already paid out thus helping Microgaming achieve €1.5 billion by the end of 2021.

Number of progressive jackpots paid out by Microgaming:
  • Mini Jackpots – 13+ Million
  • Minor Jackpots – 3+ Million
  • Major Jackpots – 4+ Thousand
  • Mega Jackpots – 13+ Thousand
