The wheel is not upright like in those titles and is instead mounted horizontally, similar to how a roulette wheel looks.

The reference to cards is because of the 54 segments on the wheel containing playing cards. You bet on which segments you think might land and can win between 40x and 5,000x if you guess correctly. The bigger payouts come as a result of three bonus rounds that trigger if the ticker stops on certain segments.

How to Play Playtech’s Latest Live Casino Game

The Greatest Cards Show utilises a giant wheel with fifty-four segments. Fifty-two of these segments are the fifty-two cards found in a full pack of cards. The two remaining segments are Joker cards. The idea is to guess which segment the wheel stops on. If you guess correctly, the minimum you will win is 40x your stake.

What I like is that the numbers on the wheel are in numerical order. So, all the same numbers are matched together. For example, the wheel has all the kings grouped together after the four queens and before the four aces. This will really appeal to those who prefer betting on sections of the wheel.

To play, you first place your bets. You have several ways to do this:

  • Bet on individual cards
  • Bet on multiple cards
  • Bet on particular numbers (so all the 4s, 5s, and 6s, for example)

Once the betting period ends, an RNG determines three to twelve of the segments to become either silver or gold cards. If you bet on a number that is silver and it comes in, you gain access to the Spotlight bonus round. Gold cards trigger the Lightshow bonus round.

The live presenter now manually spins the giant horizontal wheel. If the ball stops on a segment you wagered on, you win 40x that wager. Alternatively, you lose if you did not bet on that number. Of course, if the winning number is a silver or gold card, it triggers the aforementioned bonus round, where there is a chance of greater payouts.

The only other outcome is when the wheel stops on one of the two Joker segments. When this happens, it means you trigger the Joker Bonus game. However, to determine who qualifies, the live presenter spins the wheel again. If a number you had bet on during the previous round lands, you qualify.

The Three Greatest Cards Show Bonus Rounds in More Detail

While the base game offers up a ton of fun, the biggest payouts will come if you’re lucky enough to qualify for one of the three bonus rounds. Below I will talk you through each of those bonuses.

I personally found the bonus rounds on The Greatest Cards Show a little underwhelming. The base game is enjoyable and the production of this title is superb, but the bonuses lacked excitement for me. Other gameshows such as Crazy Time from Evolution, provide much better entertainment.

The Joker Bonus

As mentioned, the Joker Bonus is triggered via the two Joker segments on the wheel. Players then witness another spin of the wheel to see if they qualify. If the wheel stops on another Joker, it boosts the multiplier for the bonus round by 2x. A third Joker will increase the multiplier by 4x and a fourth provides an 8x multiplier. Every subsequent Joker segment will multiply by 2x each time.

There are three random multipliers assigned (First, Second, and Third). You must pick one of the four suits and witness various animated duels until one suit is declared the winner. The runner-up claims the second prize, while the other two suits claim the third multiplier.

The Spotlight Bonus

When a silver card (randomly selected) is the winning segment, the Spotlight Bonus kicks into action. This is a simple bonus round that can pay anywhere between 50x and 2,000x your stake. You have no input in this bonus game, as you just have to sit and watch what happens. Essentially, you will win one of three multipliers of your stake.

Three coloured spotlights receive a multiplier between the values mentioned above. The card that triggered this bonus round then walks towards the three spotlights and chooses one. All players that qualified win the multiplier previously applied to that coloured spotlight.

The Lightshow Bonus

Triggered by a gold card, the Lightshow bonus game is the best in terms of potential payouts. You can win between 50x and 5,000x your stake. Again, the premise is simple and a little underwhelming. You simply choose one of three coloured lightbulbs.

There is an animated mini-game for each colour that involves a ball bouncing around a grid of 20 different multipliers. The multiplier the ball lands on is what the players that chose that colour will receive.
