Caesars Entertainment, the US’ largest casino entertainment firm, has revealed the official picture for its new proposed 500 million dollars resort in Danville, Virginia. According to Caesars Entertainment, it is expected that the construction of the new resort project, otherwise called Caesars Virginia, will begin before the end of the year. At the same time, late 2023 has been set for the scheduled opening period. Caesars Virginia, the new resort designed by Marnell Companies will be an addition to Caesars Entertainment’s other resorts and entertainment centers.

The firm had begun planning for the new resort since last year. Caesars Virginia will house a new restaurant, a broad square feet space for meeting and convention, 500 hotel rooms, Caesars Sportsbook, WSOP room, entertainment offerings, a 2,500-seat theatre, a modern casino, and much more. Other notable rooms planned for Caeser Virginia includes a fitness centre, swimming pool, and spa, while several table games and slot machines will be available in the casino.

Statement From CEO and President of Caesars Entertainment

Caesars Entertainment Chief Executive Officer and President, Anthony Carano believes that: The Danville region will benefit from the new resort as entertainment and tourism will drive strong economic growth. At the same time, more jobs will also be available for the populace (both construction and operational jobs). He also pointed out how people in Danville trust his firm to erect a first-class resort.

Anthony explained that Caesars Entertainment is eager to prove to the people of Danville that their trust is well-founded. The firm will ensure that the incredible resort is built according to schedule, and it will be world-class and worthy of the Caesars brand. This new resort in Danville follows the excellent support Caesars received from voters back in 2020 to allow casino gambling in the region via a Caesar-backed referendum. Voters in three other cities in Virginia had earlier approved similar measures last year in alignment with casino partners, including Hard Rock International (Bristol aligned with the firm), Pamunkey Indian Tribe (Norfolk aligned), and Rush Street Gaming (aligned with Portsmouth).

Incredible Resort With a Positive Impact on the Community

Commenting on the unveiling of the new resort, Alonzo Jones, Mayor of Danville, who was also on the Danville campaign committee as a co-chair said that:

Over the last two years, he, the city council and staff have developed plans with Caesars Entertainment and Danville residents to build an incredible resort that will have positive impact on the community via new jobs, tax revenues and partnership opportunities with tourism dollars and local businesses.

The mayor also expressed confidence that the new resort will be a pillar of pride for the Danville people and community, especially as it will honour the Schoolfield site of the old Dan Rivers Mills. The 500 million dollars tagged on the new resort is higher than the initial amount anticipated as the resort’s development agreement by 100 million dollars.

Other Major Moves by Ceasers Entertainment – The Notable Sale of WillHill European Assets to 888 Holdings

Caesars Entertainment has also been making other major moves in the background. Just recently, it announced that it reached an agreement for the sale of its William Hill assets to 888 Holding PLC, the company behind 888 live casino. This deal is estimated at around £2.2 billion and is expected to be done in the early quarter of 2022.
