Breaking news of BetGames making its way into Ontario Canada has the iGaming new wires rattling once again. Meanwhile Pragmatic Play is causing its regular storm on online gambling news websites, feeds and social media as its unstoppable march into the LatAm market continues.

And with Pragmatic Play’s current success comes the need for a new headquarters for 75 employees based in Malta following its recent opening of a new live dealer studio in Bulgaria.

BetGames Canadian Entrance Enhances Ontario’s Live Casino Vertical

It is fair to say, the Ontario iGaming bubble has been a success and, of course, success attracts the biggest brands. The latest of which is the BetGames live casino games platform. In its latest official news report, BetGames has announced it now has its licence to operate, but it is early days yet, so we’ll have to sit back and wait to see which online casinos will form supply partnerships with the live casino games developer.

On 4 April 2022, the Ontario iGaming marketing was a blanket of confusing rules and regulations. No one really knew what was going to happen and how the framework would encourage citizens of the province to opt to play at online casinos regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Fast forward six months to now, and I must say, all the fuss back in April was for nothing.

The launch of the iGaming Ontario (iGO) subsidiary to govern online gambling operators, suppliers, and aggregators has kept the market in check. In fact, we all predicted a lethargic market that would take years to grow into anything like its US counterparts have achieved in nearby states across the border. However, brands such as Playtech, Microgaming, Light & Wonder (Scientific Games), 888, BetMGM, LeoVegas and more are all now operating seamlessly and with an element of success.

As far as live dealer software providers go, live casino lobbies of casinos operating in the province are already hosting games from OnAir Entertainment, Evolution and Playtech. With BetGames also in the picture, casino can now offer games from three well respected platforms.

Dr. Andreas Köberl, BetGames CEO, said: “Ontario’s regulated market is showing great promise, and we’re thrilled to be part of the excitement around it. Full registration allows us to expand our global reach and entertain a new demographic of players with our casino, numbers-betting and sports-betting products.” – read the BetGames announcement here.

Pragmatic Play Announces New HQ & SBC Summit Latinoamerica Sponsorship in Succession

There is rarely a day Pragmatic Play doesn’t pop up with major headlines on the iGaming news circuit. It was only on Monday my fellow iGaming compadre, Matthew O’Connor reported on yet another LatAm partnership, making it an impressive forty supply deals in the region this year. That was a supply deal with Peruvian operator Bonanza.club. And shortly before that was news of another agreement made with an iGaming firm in Peru—Atlantis Games. What a ride it has been for Pragmatic Play in South America.

Well, there’s more. Today, the company just announced that it will officially be sponsoring the 1st-3rd November SBC Summit Latinoamerica, which I might add comes with iGaming awards. There will be over 1,000 delegates and 100 speakers, plus there will be awards on the line too. This year alone Pragmatic Play has dominated in the region, taking home numerous industry accolades, giving testament to the brand’s success in the region.

Not only will Pragmatic Play sponsor the event, but the live casino software provider is also up for 4 Awards. Check out the SBC Latinoamérica 2022 shortlists here for yourself.

That’s not all. Yesterday Pragmatic Play also announced that it has new headquarters in Malta. The site is not a live dealer studio, but instead a 950sqm space accommodating 75 employees. It comes complete with a Google style set up too. Conference rooms, wellbeing activities such as yoga and personal trainers, networking areas and casual social areas.

The new HQ sounds amazing, and as I said, very Google-esq. Also, is anyone thinking what I am thinking? Could Pragmatic Play’s awesome new look office designed not just to push forward the success of the company through hard work, but also to keep the staff happy. To me, that’s a big tick in the box for up-and-coming awards for the ‘Employer of the Year’!
