News from Canada is coming thick and fast as Ontario gears up to become the first regulated iGaming province in the country. However, today the predominantly French-speaking province of Québec takes the limelight along with live dealer gaming’s flagship brand Evolution via a deal that sees the Evolution Dual Play portfolio extend its global presence.

The new deal struck with Loto-Québec will see 4 Dual Play Evolution live dealer tables available for online players that enjoy the thrill and excitement of zooming into land-based roulette and baccarat hosted on the casino floors of brick-and-mortar casinos.

Players from around the globe will now have access to English and French-speaking dealers and croupiers on 2 baccarat and 2 roulette tables streamed from Casino Montreal’s casino floor. Each of these land-based casino table games has a state-of-the-art HD webcam rig attached and players online can place virtual chips on the felts at the same time as casino clientele sitting at the table placing physical chips for each coup or betting rounds.

In the official Evolution news report ‘Evolution launches Canada’s first Dual Play tables’, Jeff Millar, Evolution’s North America Commercial Director saw the move as an opportunity to remind land-based casinos that they have online potential. He makes a great point. Live casino is a natural bridge for land-based casinos to bring their tables to an ever-growing community of online players seeking a land-based look and feel to their gameplay. And live dealer solutions such as Dual Play via companies like Evolution with proven expertise in bringing table games from the casino floors to online casinos is an additional revenue stream and excellent use of land-based casino floor space.

Dual Play Land-based Casinos: Evolution already has several other agreements with land-based studios across the globe offering exactly the same setup. Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, The Hippodrome situated in London’s prestigious Leicester Square, Dragonara Casino in Malta, Grosvenor’s Victoria Casino close to London’s West End, and the Genting’s Resorts World in the UK midlands city of Birmingham.

Evolution & Loto-Québec continue a relationship already 3 years in the making

Evolution’s latest venture into Canada will operate under its existing Autorite Des Marches Financiers (Quebec) certification, while the deal itself is with Loto-Québec, which is the owner of the land-based establishment, Casino Montreal.

It’s worth noting that this is not a new partnership between the 2 organisations. The original coming together came to light in 2018 via the Casino en direct in French in which members of the Loto-Québec online gambling portal could access dedicated live casino tables with 5 of those tables using French speaking dealers/croupiers, while Loto-Québec also streamed a number of games from Evolution’s British Columbia live casino studio based in the New Westminster area of Vancouver and operating under a Gaming Services Provider (Class B Supplier) licence issued by the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch.

Since then, Loto-Québec branched out and began to stream live casino games and game shows from Evolution’s live casino studios in Riga. The move means Loto-Québec clientele now have access to the full suite of Evolution live dealer titles, thus adding further diversity to its live casino game portfolio.

Evolution Looking to Initially Dominate Ontario’s Newly Regulate iGaming Market

In other news involving Evolution and Canada, the Ontario iGaming market is about to come online, and Evolution appears to be the only Ontario-based live dealer brand in town. Pragmatic Play Live, Playtech, BetConstruct, as well as new entrant EGT Interactive are yet to make any announcements as to whether they will register or have in fact been approved as an official Ontario iGaming Ontario. For Evolution, that leaves little competition, and the brand will probably have permission to stream games from its Vancouver studios as well as from its European operations.

Ontario iGaming grand opening: The Ontario iGaming market officially opens on 4 April. When it does, all iGaming operators will have to prevent Ontario citizens from accessing games from online casinos not operating under the new Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
