Evolution Gold Bar Roulette

Evolution Launches Gold Vault Roulette to Replace the Decommissioned Gold Bar Roulette – Is it Better? (Image courtesy of Evolution.com )

It is not often Evolution gets things wrong, but you have to hand it to the leading live casino supplier, when they do, they quickly correct any mistakes made.

Take the news of the recent launch of Gold Vault Roulette as an example. The name of this title may sound familiar to some of you. Gold Bar Roulette, anyone? That’s right, Gold Vault Roulette is a rehash of a live multiplier roulette game that Evolution decided to shut down in April 2023.

For whatever reason, Gold Bar Roulette did not reach the heights Evolution was expecting. However, rather than accepting defeat, the supplier listened to the reasons the game did not appeal to live casino fans and has now made the appropriate changes before relaunching it under a new name.

To make it clear, I actually thought Gold Bar Roulette was a great game as it gave players more control over the multipliers. You could place the multipliers on numbers of your choosing and even stockpile those multipliers for future sessions.

Why Gold Bar Roulette flopped? For whatever reason, players did not like having that control over the multipliers. Many found it confusing and were not sure how they were supposed to use those multipliers effectively. Essentially, the part of the game that I enjoyed about Gold Bar Roulette is the same part the masses didn’t.

What is Gold Vault Roulette and How Does it Differ?

Clearly, Gold Vault Roulette is Evolution’s second attempt at another multiplier roulette gameshow along the lines of Lightning Roulette. It even uses the same studio as the game it has replaced.

While the studio design and the game itself look very similar to the decommissioned title, the core mechanics have just dramatically. It now plays a lot closer to other multiplier roulette games by assigning random multipliers to straight-up numbers. In fact, if a random multiplier is assigned to one of your straight bets, it will mean a minimum multiplier of 50x or as much as 500x should that number come in.

On any round, up to 20 gold bars will attach themselves to random numbers on the roulette grid. These multipliers are 50x but will stack up to 150x if up to three multipliers land on the same number. On some rounds, a 500x Super Gold Bar will also randomly apply to a single straight-up number.

Each round plays out just like any other standard roulette round. You can place all the same inside and outside bets, but only straight-up numbers will attract the multipliers. To cover the value of these multipliers, the payout for non-multiplied straight-up bets is reduced to 24:1 from the 35:1 found on standard roulette tables.

  • Up to 20 Gold Bars will randomly apply to Straight-Up numbers and have a value of 50x.
  • The Bars can stack up to three times on a single number to deliver a 150x multiplier.
  • A Super Gold Bar worth 500x is randomly assigned on occasion.

My opinion of Gold Vault Roulette: If you enjoy playing live multiplier roulette games, you will enjoy what Gold Vault Roulette has to offer. However, I just feel like it has lost its uniqueness and is barely any different from many of the other games in this genre. The original Gold Bar Roulette had that uniqueness – although, what do I know as the game tanked?
