Just two weeks following the release of its first live video slot, Crazy Coin Flip, Evolution has now announced the release of yet another live casino game. Called Teen Patti, this is Evolution’s take on a game that is incredibly popular in India. Plus, thanks to online casinos and developers making this game increasingly available, it is also proving popular with players from other countries as well.

Ezugi and Vivo Gaming are just two other developers that have released live variations of this Indian classic, and going off the success of those titles, it is understandable that Evolution wanted to get in on the act. However, Evolution has even gone one better and added in some new twists that could reward players with payouts of up to 1,000x the stake. This is through the addition of two new side bets, the Pair Plus and Six-Card Bonus.

Teen Patti Live is the fifth new live casino title launched by Evolution so far in 2022. It follows Peek Baccarat, Super Andar Bahar, XXXtreme Lightning Roulette, and Crazy Coin Flip so far this year. Plus, we also expect several other new titles in the second half of the year, including Monopoly Big Baller and Gold Bar Roulette.

Evolution eyeing up another iGaming firm: While Evolution is the undisputed leader of the live casino space, the firm has also spent the last few years diversifying its offering by acquiring some of the industry’s best-known video slot developers. That started with the acquisition of NetEnt and Red Tiger, which was then followed by the acquisition of Big Time Gaming last year. Now, the firm has also agreed to acquire NoLimit City in a deal worth up to €340 million.

How to Play Teen Patti from Evolution

Essentially, Teen Patti is a variant of 3-Card Poker that uses poker hand rankings to determine the winner of each hand. You start out by placing your ‘Ante’ bet and any side bets you want to place (will go into these more a bit later). The live dealer will then deal three cards to you and three cards to himself or herself. At this point, we cannot see the cards that the dealer has dealt to themself as they were dealt face down. Now it comes down to a decision of whether you want to play on. You can play on by placing a bet that is equal in size to your ante or you can fold your hand.

It is important to remember that the dealer’s hand will only qualify with at least a Queen high, so you need to base your decision on whether you think your hand will beat that hand at the very least. The winner is the player that creates the strongest poker hand from their three cards. If you win and the dealer does not qualify, you win 1:1 on your Ante and receive your Play bet back. If you win and the dealer qualifies, you receive 1:1 on both bets. You lose your bets if you lose or fold. You get both bets back if there is a tie.

The Teen Patti Live Side Bets

Where Evolution has changed things up compared to other variations is via the addition of two side bets. There is the Pair Plus side bet that pays out if a player creates a hand that is a minimum of a pair. A pair pays 1;1, while you also get payouts of Flush (4:1), Straight (5:1), Three of a Kind (30:1), Straight Flush (40:1) and Mini Royal Flush (100:1).

If you think those payouts look tasty, then wait to see what you can get using the Six Card Bonus side bet. This side bet uses all six cards (player and dealer) to create the best poker hand possible. The hands you have to create are the five-card hands you may know from traditional variations of poker. You will need to create a three-of-a-kind (7:1) or better to win. The Straight (10:1), Flush (15:1), Full House (20:1), Four of a Kind (100:1), Straight Flush (200:1), and Royal Flush (1,000:1) are the other hands that payout.

The RTP of Teen Patti live is 96.63% but the side bets have their own RTP as they are independent of the main bet. The Pair Plus has an RTP of 95.51% and the Six Card Bonus has 91.44%. This would suggest it is better to stick to the main game, however with better payouts up for grabs, it is understandable some may want to gamble.
