There is an awards events that includes tables games and live dealer games awards, and in this news report you get to see which top brands and titles are in the running. What better way to find a recommendation than an awards event?

In honour of these game developers and the games themselves, the Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (EKG) Slot Awards Show is the event name, and the venue is the Las Vegas Aria Resort & Casino on Thursday 23 February 2023. Right now, the shortlists are out, and if you are a seasoned live casino player, then you will already know the software providers in the mix for an award win!

Just to give you a few spoilers, developers Playtech and Evolution are going head-to-head for a ‘Live Casino Game’ accolade, while in two other award categories Evolution is taking on the likes of Inspired Gaming, the Bragg Gaming Group, and giant land-based and online developer IGT (International Gaming Technologies).

Overall the event comes with 3 categories and under each of those are a set of awards. Altogether there are 25 of them to win in what will be a 2 and a half hour event held between 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm. After that, I am sure the designated attendees for each company will be off to take full advantage of all the delights the city of Las Vegas has to offer. After all, Thursday nights are the new Friday night these days (at least that’s what some of us like to tell ourselves)!

Who & What is EKG?

Before I burst into the awards categories, here’s a little background info. EKG stands for Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, which is a gaming research and consulting company. Since 2019, the firm has put on this special event in Las Vegas to recognise the efforts of slot machine developers across the entire gambling spectrum. Kudos to them, and a big thank you. I am sure many of you reading this, and those nominated for awards at the event will also feel the same gratitude.

EKG 2023 Slot Awards iGaming Shortlists

The iGaming award category is of course the focal point for Livecasinocentral. Many of the developers you will already know from your online casino and via other industry award events are covered here on our iGaming portal. And as I like to do sometimes, here are my predictions for the winners of each award and why I think they will win. Feel free to leave your comments below.

• Top Performing NEW Online Table Game: Interestingly, Evolution’s Free Bets Blackjack is up for this award. It is a popular blackjack game with free double down on 9, 10 and 11 totals (you can double on any, but these numbers are free) and free splits. My prediction is that it will win this particular section. Although, Space Invaders Roulette also sounds fun.
• Top Performing Online Live Casino Game: This category is between Playtech’s Blackjack Unlimited and Evolution’s Live Blackjack. Why Blackjack again? Simply because in the previous SOFTSWISS 2023 iGaming Trends stats show it was one of the most popular crypto games. However, Playtech’s ‘Unlimited Blackjack’ does not accept crypto and was not in the SOFTSWISS rankings. And as this table uses ‘Unlimited’ tech so any number of players can play, it could also take pole position.
• Most Innovative Online Game: I would say because Evolution’s Lightning Roulette picked up so many awards in 2018 when it first hit the live casino scene, this is a good reason to predict Lightning Blackjack will win this award.
• Best Overall Supplier of Online Content: This award doesn’t have a dedicated table below because all iGaming brands are in the running to win this so EKG didn’t need to provide a list. Of course, that means Evolution and Playtech could win. Plus, other brand names such as Light & Wonder, Bragg, IGT, Inspired, DWG, Gaming Realms, Reel Play, Everi, White Hat Studios and more. This is anyone’s award and a tough one to pick. Just to be a good sport, I am going to say the Bragg Gaming Group because I know this brand is killing it across all iGaming sectors in North America.
