Live Treasure Island Wheel of Fortune

Breaking Live Casino Game Show News! The new Treasure Island Game Show by Pragmatic Play has six bonus rounds – a 33.3% chance of landing one! (Image Courtesy of LeoVegas Casino)

The Treasure Island gameshow is out at Pragmatic Play casinos and is already winning the hearts and minds of Wheel of Fortune live casino game show enthusiasts.

Plus, here’s a spoiler alert: This game comes with six bonus rounds and three gem multipliers – like no other Wheel of Fortune game out there!

Fifteen men on the Dead Man’s Chest yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!

If you know that phrase, then you’ve heard of Long John Silver and the famous tale of Treasure Island novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, released in 1883.

The story has become Pragmatic Play’s third Wheel of Fortune game release and could bet you a maximum multiplier win of 15,450x your bet!

Pragmatic Play brings parts of Robert Louis Stevenson’s world-famous story and the characters into an exciting live game show! The wheel has 54 segments. Some segments award instant multiplier wins for staking the correct gem, which comes with changing multipliers. But wait…

There are ‘SIX BONUS ROUNDS’… (Caps)

Yes, that’s right, ladies and gents. There are mega ‘SIX BONUS ROUNDS’ to maximise entertainment. Eat your heart out Crazy Time, Adventures Beyond Wonderland, and Sweet Bonanza CandyLand because compared to these Wheel of Fortune fan favourites, Treasure Island’s bonus potential kicks them out of the ballpark.

Will we review this game in full? I should say we have to. It has it all. There are multiplier numbers and more ways to land multipliers via bonuses than any other Wheel of Fortune Game show.

Beginning with the Treasure Island Game Show Bonus Rounds

Of course, these bonus rounds bring in characters from the novel. Captain Flint, Billy Bones, and Long John Silver. Not forgotten, they are making a coming back from paperback books – or your Kindle, depending on how you like to read – into the live online casino scene. Below is each bonus explained briefly. You’ll see the name of the bonus and the multipliers, followed by a short description.

  • John Silvers Loot (2x up to 10,000x): This is a bingo-style game with your bet up for grabs. Just sit back and enjoy the action as multipliers fly out until a final value accumulates and multiplies your total bet on this bonus.
  • Captain Flint’s Treasure (10x to 15,000x): You’ll need to navigate six challenges/levels on a 7×6 barrel grid. Along the way, you must avoid game-ending skulls while collecting gems for multipliers.
  • The Great Scavenger (3x to 450x):  The game revolves around three gem slots. Each one illuminates to correspond to multipliers. The number of lit lights in each slot is multiplied by its specific gem multiplier with on-the-line payouts.
  • The Wild Collector (2x up to 900x): On the outside of the wheel, you will see gems highlighted. All gems accumulate into one big multiplier, and then the total applies itself to the amount you placed to bet on this bonus segment.
  • Billy Bones Map (5x up to 15,450x): This Treasure Island bonus plays out on an 8×8 grid. Your mission is to uncover keys on the grid to unlock chests. Once unlocked, a wheel spin will determine the gem multipliers.
  • Ben’s Lost Marbles (2x up to 10,000x): This game of Pachinko is similar to the Pachinko bonus round we saw in Crazy Time. Let the ball drop and bounce off the pins to collect multiplier wins.

Captain Flint’s Treasure 96.52%

How to Play Treasure Island

Have I got this the wrong way around? I’ve spoken about bonuses before telling you how to play the game. I know why. I’m just shocked that the highlight of this game is that it comes with six bonus rounds. However, that’s not all. This is not your average Wheel of Fortune live casino game show.

Placing your Bets – Bonuses and Gems

You’ll have 12 seconds between each round to get your bets down, and there are 9 betting options, which are all related to the segments in the table accompany this section.

  • Six Bonus Round Bets: You can bet on one to six bonuses on any given spin. However, careful if you are playing using a bonus.
  • Three Gems: There are three gems to bet on, and the multipliers paid are random. This is new to Wheel of Fortune games and sets Treasure Island apart from similar games competing in the same space. I’ll explain more below.

Avoid Makign Bonus Mistakes: When using bonus bets, usually you cannot cover more than 60% or 70% f bets available. The long and the short of it is that you cannot guarantee a win by betting on all numbers in order to play through your wagering requirement.

Breakdown of Treasure Island’s 54 Segments

Segment Type No. of Segments
Topaz (Yellow) 21
Emerald (Green) 14
Ruby (Red) 8
Great Scavenger 4
Wild Collector 3
Ben’s Lost Marbles 3
John Silver’s Loot 2
Billy Bones’ Map 2
Captain Flint’s Treasure 1
How do Gem multipliers work?

All gems decide on a multiplier after you place your bets. There are three gems to bet on, and each one comes with a minimum and maximum multiplier. Compared to other Wheel of Fortune games, this is a new one! Usually we bet on a number and if the wheel spins on that number, that’s the multiplier of our spin bet we receive. In this case, Pragmatic Play has made the game more random – brilliant!

Gem Random Multipliers
Topez 1x to 10x
Emerald 1x to 20x
Ruby 3x to 50x

What about alternative Wheel of Fortune Game Shows? You can find alternatives via the game shows at live casinos page here. I’ve also listed some of the more similar games with bonus rounds below by comparing the chance of landing a bonus!

Gems Multipliers
Gem Stones Multipliers (Treasure Island)
Segment Type Theoretical RTP
Topaz (Yellow) 96.52%
Emerald (Green) 96.50%
Ruby (Red) 96.50%

There is a huge advantage to this game, but there is also a slight disadvantage!

With six bonus rounds that all need segments, on this 54-segment wheel, 15 segments could land you entrance into one of the bonus games. If your strategy is to bet only on the bonuses, you have a 33.33% chance of getting there!

There is one slight disadvantage. Compared to other Wheel of Fortune games, you have more betting options. This may sound great initially, but we must consider variation and probabilities. The more betting options there are, the more you must bet to win. That makes Treasure Island a slightly more volatile game than its competition. To counter those slight negative points, live game shows are about diversity. Treasure Island offers you something different via a game with more bonus action. It is better than regurgitating yet another ‘same-old-same-old’ game, so kudos to Pragmatic Play for coming up with something different!

Wheel of Fortune Live Game Bonus C0mparison: As you can see from the table accompanying this section, Treasure Island offers far more bonus action versus any of its rivals in the Wheel of Fortune. Although the gameplay is slightly different, the key phrase here ‘MAXIMUM BONUS ACTION’.

Alternative 54-Segment Wheel of Fortune Live Game Shows Compared

Just How Famous is the Treasure Island Story?

Why look into whether the theme of Pragmatic Play’s new wheel of fortune game is a famous story. Well read on to the end and you’ll catch my drift, or just skip to the highlight box!

First, there was the book. However, if you prefer not to read, there was also a 1950s Treasure Island film, a hit back the day before. Yet another Treasure Island movie box office hit came 40 years later in 1990.

From the original Robert Louis Stevenson novel to the movie to another movie, and now to the Live Casino. There is a board game, too! Plus, let’s not forget the Legends of Treasure Island 1993–1995 animated series loosely based on the story. However, in my opinion, the recent Black Sails series on Netflix was yet another adaptation to TV entertainment.

There are also several Treasure Island online slots. Inspired Gaming, Tom Horn, and Quickspin are a few examples. But none of these have ever claimed their gameplay is an adaptation of the original novel. Yet, the Treasure Island name must have inspired the name of some of those titles as it has through many generations.
