Playtech US Live Studios

Did you know Playtech has 2 live studios in the US? Playtech news column recently announced the launch of New Jersey & Michigan studios! (Image from playtech.com)

One we were expecting, the other comes as somewhat as a surprise as Playtech opens 2 US Live Studios. It is called the land of opportunity and for the big guns in the live dealer sphere of iGaming, it is the opportunity to extend their brand and live dealer games in fresh US markets that beckons.

The second-largest live casino game provider in the world and London Stock Exchange-listed Playtech brand is now spreading its wings stateside. And we have to say, we didn’t see the New Jersey studio coming. Earlier this year, we reported Playtech live studios in Michigan were on the horizon, but somewhere it seems the iGaming world missed the New Jersey live studio deal.

Currently, it means that Playtech and Evolution live games grace the state of Michigan a.k.a. the Wolverine State, while in New Jersey Evolution, Ezugi (owned by Evolution), and Playtech studios will be operating in competition with one another.

Playtech’s latest move into the US live casino market continues a long battle for dominance in the live dealer arena between the 2 brands. Both are hot on one another’s heels in European live casinos that also offer live games in India, South Africa, LATAM countries, Canada, and New Zealand.

We certainly do not expect these 2 brands to let up, and rather they will continue leading the way while Pragmatic Play Live creeps in behind them as its aggressive rollout of live dealer games continues. However, we are not sure when we will see Pragmatic Play Live enter the US market as it has via its line of video slot titles already available in some states in the US.

US Live Casino Market: Evolution and Playtech are the 3 major brands with live dealer studios in Michigan, while Evolution is predominantly available in Pennsylvania, while New Jersey players now have the luxury of choosing from Playtech, Evolution, and Ezugi!

In Michigan, Playtech live casino games will be available via the ‘Play Gun Lake’ brand, while its European partner also operating in the USA, bet365, brings a third live dealer brand to the Garden State (New Jersey). For the time being, Playtech still requires final approval from the MGCD in Michigan and NJDGF, which are the licencing authorities for both states.

Games initially available to players in both states will be live Roulette, live Baccarat live and live Blackjack, which also includes the All Bets variant of the game. All Bet Blackjack uses unlimited technology so any number of players can sit at the table, and as such, there is never any queuing.

On top of this, Quantum Roulette, which challenges Evolution’s Lightning Roulette across Europe and other global markets will also feature. Players can win up to a 1000x multiplier on their straight bets, while 1 to 5 numbers of the roulette board randomly have multipliers assigned to them for each coup. Evolution is yet to launch its 2018 SBC Innovation in Casino and EGR Operator Awards Game of the Year award-winning multiplier roulette title in the US, but Playtech’s announcement might see the brand react and begin to roll the game out before Quantum Roulette steals all the limelight.

Comments from Playtech: Edo Haitin, CEO at Playtech Live Casino has said the opening of 2 US Live Studios is a landmark occasion for the brand. He thanked the US partners for their assistance and expressed his delight that Playtech’s live dealer vertical is now a part of a fast-growing iGaming market.
