Following a poll by Glassdoor (a job website), Steven Birch, the CEO of Skybet has been voted as one of the top CEOs in the United Kingdom to work for.

Flutter Entertainment-owned Sky Bet boss came behind highly ranked bosses at the British Heart Foundation, Lego, Microsoft, and BlackRock. Job website Glassdoor carried out the review based on empathetic, consistent, and intentional leadership during the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic which shook the whole world.
Glassdoor also based its review on how company leaders displayed a firm dedication to the well-being of their employees while maintaining the culture and mission of the company. Other terms that describe a top CEO according to Glassdoor’s reviews include reliability, openness, and accessibility among others. These were the qualities the employees consider while rating their CEOs.
Statement from The CEO of Glassdoor
Speaking on the CEOs ranking, the Chief Executive Officer of Glassdoor, Christian Sutherland-Wong stated that: “Leaders of companies around the world were faced with unprecedented challenges in the support of their employees during the pandemic over the past year”. Sutherland-Wong added that the “employees acknowledge the effort of their leaders in trying to support them during the pandemic which is why they have spoken through the anonymous reviews”.
The CEO further pointed out that is clear that the Chief Executive Officers of the various companies under review performed excellently and supported their people using new methods when the pandemic called for it. Everyone knows that the pandemic period was challenging for the whole industry especially at its peak with the government forced to impose compulsory lockdown in some locations in a move to curb the spread of the virus and keep people safe. At this time, the world of work turned upside down as most people could not go to their workplace while some began to work online from home.
Sutherland-Wong continued, saying that it was very inspiring to see CEOs redefine visions and adapt to changes necessitated by the pandemic while also leading with so much transparency. According to the employees, the top CEOs who made the list put the safety and health of their employees first and ensured that they were well taken care of. In his last remark, Glassdoor’s CEO congratulated the winners of the 2021 edition of the Employees’ Choice Awards.
