It is no longer news that Russia is currently invading Ukraine. Many European countries, people and industries have shown their support for Ukraine, and the gambling industry is not left out either. Many key players, including Soft2Bet, an aggregation platform recently in the news for adding the MuchBetter payment solution, have shown support in financial contributions and donations of supplies.

Soft2Bet Aims to Reinforce Reliefs and Efforts

In a recent press release, Soft2Bet, one of the major game developers in the gambling industry, has stated that its core responsibility is to reinforce efforts and relief where required. It also stated that it would keep on with its business as usual while observing the safety of the affected family members of its employees.

On this note, the company has made numerous donations to relief services inside and outside Ukraine. It has also developed an Emergency Department charged with dealing with the crises in various aspects. People affected by the crises are evacuated from Ukraine with buses to countries across the border. The team handles their accommodation, with health specialists providing medical services, food, psychological support, and first-aid kits.

Asides from this, Soft2Bet has made arrangements for a charter flight that will fly 150 family members of employees from Romania to Cyprus. Since most of the company’s workforce resides in Cyprus, the company will rally the community and assist in getting more contributions for the people of Ukraine. Once this is done, Soft2Bet aims to double the accumulated donations provided by the participants.

As there is a continuously growing worldwide call for aid during this war, Soft2Bet urges other companies to take similar steps and help anyhow they can. The company promises to continue monitoring the situation and take more actions as required as they join the global community in voicing hope for the war to stop in Ukraine. Soft2Bet also assured that every one of them would support in this time of need, and one way they of doing this was by opening a fundraising account for assistance to the affected Ukrainians. Soft2Bet concluded its press release by stating that they will stay United and urged that there can be a difference with the collective effort of everyone.

LeoVegas Ceases Betting on Belarusian and Russian Domestic Sports

LeoVegas was also not left out as it recently announced that all betting on Belarusian and Russian have been suspended. This was its response to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. In a recently released statement, LeoVegas added that even though it had never accepted players from Belarus or Russia, stopping betting operations from these markets was its way of not lending legitimacy to leagues and teams from both countries.

The operator also stated that teams from Belarus and Russia had been banned from participating in numerous events by sports federations. These range from the Paralympics, which announced that teams from these countries would be banned, alongside FIFA and UEFA, which are the top European football governing bodies. LeoVegas also donated SEK500,000 in support of relief work in Ukraine to the Red Cross earlier this week.

Softswiss & BGaming Focus on Providing Financial Support for Ukraine

BGaming and Softswiss, who are major suppliers in the gambling sector, have also shown their support for Ukraine. These leading companies have cancelled their involvement at the ICE London 2022 as a result of the crises in Ukraine. They have also offered financial support to charities presently assisting the Ukrainian citizens.

According to a spokesperson, as a result of the situation in Ukraine, we have backed down from our activities at ICE London and other marketing activities. We will be unable to partake because we want to channel all our resources to offering support to financial organizations that assist citizens of Ukraine.

Other Examples of Companies Showing Support for the Ukrainian People

Various companies in the iGaming industry have put together numerous GoFundMe pages to show support. Many of these organizations have donated most of their CSR budgets to assist individuals located in Ukraine. Parimatch, a native operator in Ukraine, has been providing financial donations, while ATG has donated SEK2M to a charity for Ukrainian citizens.

Also, earlier this week, the Gaming Industry for Ukraine initiative was created. It aims to raise £250,000 for those impacted by the war and has managed to raise £150,000 so far. Donations are not limited to financial contributions, with some coming in the form of supplies and equipment, which some companies have opted for. Overall, the gambling industry is strongly behind the citizens of Ukraine, and we can’t wait for things to return to normal.
