The 2022 SBC Awards took place as part of the SBC Summit in Barcelona between the 20th and 22nd of September and we can bring news of some big winners in the live casino vertical. More importantly, we get to see if any of our predictions came true.
The awards came at the end of a three-day event that attracted representatives of many of the biggest brands in iGaming to one of the best networking opportunities of the year. Leading live casino suppliers such as Evolution, Playtech Live, CreedRoomz, TVBet, Stakelogic Live, Pragmatic Play Live, Vivo Gaming, and Ezugi were all in with a shout of winning awards, with some of them walking away with the recognition they deserved.
This was the ninth edition of an iGaming award ceremony considered by many to be the most prestigious. it celebrates and recognises the achievements of some of the biggest names in the online casino, eSports, and sports betting industries. Categories cover everything from live casino supplier of the year, casino/slots developer of the year and platform provider of the year to payment solution of the year and casino operator of the year.
There were 15 awards handed out in total across 5 main categories. Those were Operator, Operator & Supplier, Affiliate, Supplier, and Payment. Obviously, as we focus on the live and online casino side of things, those are the categories we will concentrate on in this article. However, you will find the full information regarding all awards and categories on the SBC Events website.
Evolution Beats Playtech Live and CreedRoomz to the Biggest Live Casino Award
There was one award that the best live casino suppliers were hoping to win during the ceremony. That was the ‘Live Casino Supplier’ Award for 2022. This category was hotly contested with names such as Playtech Live, CreedRoomz, TVBet, BetGames, Vivo Gaming, Pragmatic Play Live, Amusnet Interactive, Ezugi, and Stakelogic Live all in the running. However, it was the hot favourite, Evolution, that walked away with the award. Playtech Live and CreedRoomz took home the silver and bronze awards, respectively.
OnAir Entertainment, the relatively new live casino supplier also earned recognition in the Rising Star in Casino Innovation/Entertainment category. While the firm did not walk away with the top award (that went to PopOK Gaming), it won the silver award in that category. Of course, Evolution is used to winning industry awards as it has won dozens over the years for developing massively popular titles such as Monopoly Live, Crazy Time, and Lightning Roulette. However, we’re sure they’re still delighted to be renowned as the best live casino supplier in the industry.
Playtech is another huge iGaming brand that is not shy of winning awards. This time the firm picked up one major award and was runner-up in two other categories. The firm was the winner of the ‘Platform Provider of the Year’ and came second in the Multi-Channel Supplier Award and the aforementioned ‘Live Casino Supplier’ award.
Rootz, the operator behind online casino brands such as Wheelz and Wildz Casino (two platforms we have given casino reviews), came second in the Rising Star in Casino category behind Videoslots.
