Some of the key changes in iGaming signalling the future of the industry can be found in NFTs and Metaverse implementations.

Entain is already making use of NFTs using them to promote responsible gambling to tech-minded online gurus who are perhaps the most at risk. On top of this, the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, which is the owner of the land-based casino Indigo Sky, said that by 2023 a new metaverse version of the casino to iGaming.

Live casinos are likely going to become the first Metaverse games that really take off as there is an allure to sitting at a table with other players via a VR headset.

Cryptocurrencies were once a hotly debated subject in online casinos, and despite a large number of people who believed crypto would not become a success in online gambling, the doubters have been proved wrong. NFTs are now the next trending topic, and Entain is already showing just how NFTs can be used in online gambling without using NFTs as a currency to bet, but as a tool to get across important messages.

NFT Building Problem Gambling Awareness – Entain launches safer gambling NFT

In the most recent tech news in iGaming, the global sports betting group Entain launches Safer Gambling NFT promoting responsible gambling. This marks the second digital collectable released by the group in 2022. The series is being sold via OpenSea and will benefit the Charles Oakley Foundation. The range is aimed at a tech-savvy audience.

The collection is made up of nine markers that depict different aspects of gambling addiction. The marker range was created in collaboration with Enlighting Media, a professional web design and development multimedia company.

Each of the visuals for the markers were designed to convey a strong message against gambling addiction. This project was also coordinated with the Entain Foundation’s responsible gambling mobile app. The free app provides tools for problem gamblers, plus it features an array of calendars highlighting high depositing days.

The Entain Foundation itself supports a variety of programs to help prevent, detect and treat problem gambling. Its initiatives include education programmes for athletes, teams and coaches. They also promote scientific research and human behaviour studies. The Foundation works to mitigate the risks of problem gambling and helps the public to recognize the signs of addiction.

The Entain Foundation US has also partnered with Charles Oakley, former NBA All-Star and VP of the New York Knicks, to encourage the public to be more responsible when it comes to gambling. Through the NFTs and the app, the Foundation hopes to educate the public about the dangers of gambling. The charity also organizes fundraising events and serves as a resource for underserved communities.

How Were the NFTs Designed?

The Enlighting Media and Entain Foundation US collaboration on this project was successful. The company designed two-dimensional images, GIFs and NFTs for the Entain Foundation’s responsible gambling campaign. The first series of nine NFTs were launched in June. They feature calendars that represent excessive depositing days and blinking eyes that symbolize late-night play. The Foundation will donate all profits from the sale of the NFTs to the Charles Oakley Foundation.
