As a testament to just how good Microgaming and Evolution are when it comes to delivering high-quality online casino gaming, both these developers who are known for their excellent live dealer platforms. picked up double awards at the latest EGR Italy 2020 Awards ceremony.

This year’s EGR Italy 2020 Awards took place on 27 Oct and it judges the performance of iGaming firms within the Italian market itself. Although the awards are Italy specific, for the English speaking online gaming community, seeing 2 well-known brands that provide live dealer games across Europe, the UK, Canada, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand gives us an idea of just how ell established these firms are across the globe.

In Italy, these suppliers need to conform to the AAMS (Italy) licensing. Microgaming and Evolution seem to have every corner of the globe covered. Their partnership deals in Italy mean both developers hold the legal right to supply their games in the Italian market and inevitably these 2 serial award-winning iGaming casino platform providers are continuing what they do best across the globe and that is picking up awards – this time around it is the EGR Italy 2020 awards!

Microgaming Picks Up 2 Major EGR Italy 2020 Awards

Microgaming picked up the ‘Casino Platform Supplier’ and the ‘Software Supplier’ awards, making it a double haul. Last year NetEnt, another live dealer platform provider, won both the ‘Casino Platform Supplier’ and the ‘Software Supplier’ awards. As Microgaming and NetEnt are fierce rivals, this year’s double win is a monumental victory and a big turnaround for the firm that disappointingly left empty-handed the previous year.

  • Casino Platform Supplier of the year EGR Italy 2020
  • Software Supplier of the year EGR Italy 2020

The Microgaming ‘Casino Platforms Supplier’ and ‘Software Supplier’ divisions supply the market with many online video slots, virtual table games, the world’s largest progressive jackpot network, and a growing army of live casino games including Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Casino Hold’em, and Sic Bo. Microgaming is also ready to become an aggregator in Germany and its platform is ready in advance of the new 2021 German laws that will separate live casino gaming from video slots gaming-2 key areas Microgaming operates in within the iGaming industry.

Evolution Gaming Double EGR Italy 2020 Award Swoop

Another fierce rival of Microgaming in the virtual table game and on the live dealer scene is Evolution, who also picked up 2 awards.

The double award win saw Evolution take home ‘Content Supplier’ and ‘Digital Industry Supplier’ awards all won via the firm’s excellent and innovative provision of its live dealer platform to operators globally.

  • Content Supplier of the year EGR Italy 2020
  • Digital Industry Supplier of the year EGR Italy 2020

It is the second consecutive year the EGR Italy award for ‘Casino Content Supplier’ a.k.a. ‘Casino Content Provider’ of the year award fell into Evolution’s lap.

Evolution Vs Microgaming Live Dealer Platforms

On the Microgaming front, there is not much to report in regards to the firm’s involvement with live dealer casino gaming segment of the iGaming industry.

For now, it seems Microgaming is focusing its efforts over in the video slots market where it is bringing together reputable game developers. Most of them are social gaming and mobile gaming designers, which Microgaming is helping to bring these firms into the online slots market via Microgaming’s Quickfire delivery systems. It is a project that is showing remarkable success as the firm extends its Mega Moolah jackpot selection, but whether Microgaming plans to replicate this successful strategy in the live dealer arena is unclear.

As for Evolution, the firm needs no introduction. Its live dealer platform is continuously outgrowing its competitors, such as Microgaming and NetEnt. The latter looks almost certain to become a part of the Evolution brand if the developer’s NASDAQ takeover plans finalise and NetEnt shareholders all agree.

Unlike Microgaming, Evolution is also extending its live dealer platform on multiple levels. 2020 games such as Crazy Time and Instant Roulette are new additions while Evolution is about to become the first live dealer studio to host a Live Craps table!
