Playtech K-Pop Live Roulette

For all of you K-pop fans out there, good news! The new Playtech live K-pop roulette release brings the music genre to your live casino! (Images courtesy of YT)

We have another new live roulette game hits the Playtech live casino game portfolio. K-Pop Roulette Live is based on the popular fad of K-Pop music from South Korea.

Now, to warn you, this game does not strictly follow the traditional betting options standard roulette games offer. Instead, it simplifies the betting options, giving you a low volatile game. Although, you can still win 35 to 1. I’ll explain all this in the How to Play K-Pop Roulette section below.

The wheel itself uses a single-zero. I prefer the single-zero because it offers a better RTP than double-zero roulette games. However, due to the way this game changes the betting options, it doesn’t make too much of a difference when placing bets.

What is K-pop?

This niche music theme has become popular globally, and Playtech has quickly recognised its potential in the live dealer space. Although K-Pop is not huge in Europe, it still has a firm following. Over in Australia and New Zealand, and across Canada, the K-pop music scene has blown up with a huge fanbase. So much so that K-pop bands regularly tour these countries.

As per the theme of K-pop music, the K-pop live roulette game is set in a dedicated studio with all kinds of neon lights and clashing components to mimic the glitz and glamour of this unique music scene.

Oddly enough, or maybe not, the croupier (game presenter) hosts the game in Korean language. I am guessing that K-pop fans outside South Korea will still be happy, seeing as they listen to the music in the same language.

Announcement of a new Playtech Game Show: The new K-Pop Roulette Live game comes right after the company announced the production of the Family Feud game show.

How to Play K-Pop Roulette Live

If you have played any Playtech live game shows like Spin A Win or Adventures Beyond Wonderland, you’ll notice the betting options are similar. Are you confused already? Well, the reason is that K-pop Roulette does not offer outside bets such as high/low or columns/dozens. There are also streets, no corners, splits, or streets. Instead, the game splits the wheel into 4 sections, and you choose which one to bet on.

Instead, the game splits the wheel into 4 sections, and you choose which one to bet on, as well as some traditional outside bets and 2 set straight bets. As per the introduction, that makes this a low-variance/volatility game.

  • x4 Section Bets: Each section has 9 numbers, using 1 to 36, which divided by 4 equals 9 number for each. These pay 3:1 or 4x your bet. The ‘0’ doesn’t enter these section, and as such become a standalone number, which is part of the straight-up bets bullet point below.
  • x2 Outside Bets: There are also even, odd, red, and black bets, giving you 4x your bet, so 3:1.
  • x2 Straight Up Bets: You also have the option to bet on ‘0’. Alternatively, you can bet on the lucky number, thus giving you 2 straight bets paying 35 to 1 on your bet, or as the game shows, 36x your bet. The lucky number chooses a number 1 to 36 after the ball spins on the auto-roulette wheel. IF you bet on the ‘Lucky Number’ and it comes in, you win!

That is really all there is to it. A K-pop theme, a bright studio, a Korean language presenter, and a limited number of bets to make it one of the easiest roulette games to play online. In fact, if you are not familiar with roulette, and you don’t mind listening to a presenter you cannot understand (unless you speak Korean), then I would venture as far as to say that this is a great introductory version of roulette.

What alternatives to K-pop Roulette are there? When it comes to the simplicity of the bets offered, there really are no alternatives I can think of. If you are looking for themed roulette games, Playtech offer then Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Age of the Gods Roulette. As for learning how to play the traditional game of roulette, the Livecasinocentral guide to playing roulette might come in handy.
