SBC, an international media, and events firm has agreed to acquire CGS (Canadian Gaming Summit) which is the premier annual trade show and conference that takes place yearly in Canada for iGaming and land-based professionals.

SBC is set to acquire the summit from MediaEdge Communications and the Canadian Gaming Association who are the current joint owners. However, the acquisition will not be concluded until after the 2022 edition of the popular summit.

Although SBC will not have fully taken over the summit by June, the firm will work with the Canadian Gaming Association and Media Edge to bring more commercial and content opportunities to the 2022 edition of the annual summit. Part of the arrangement for the summit includes the three organizations’ plan to host a Special Reception for the gaming industry on April 4. Celebration of the launch of the new online gaming regime is the rationale behind this reception.

The CGA will not stop being involved in the summit even after SBC acquires it as the former will now work as a strategic and official partner of the summit while working with SBC to ensure the continued support of the CGS towards developing the Canadian gaming industry.

About the Canadian Gaming Summit

The Canadian Gaming Summit is an annual event that brings the industry together and connects several stakeholders in the gaming industry. It attracts top brands like Evolution, Aristocrat (a key iGaming company that recently bid to acquire Playtech), and Scientific Games which recently acquired the Authentic Gaming live casino brand.

This summit keeps the industry connected but has been on hold for the past two years because of COVID-19 until recently when it was announced that this year’s summit will take place physically from June 7 to 9. This years’ summit is set to take place in downtown Toronto, precisely at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
