In a month full of gambling award ceremonies, we have news of yet another and this time it is IGT that has walked away the biggest winner. The leading land-based and iGaming slots provider took home awards from four of the twenty award categories, while other notable winners included Scientific Games (now known as Light & Wonder), London’s Hippodrome Casino, and the Casino de Monte Carlo.

The Casino Awards (formerly called the British Casino Awards) took place at the Tower Hotel in London on the 12th of April and those lucky enough to attend enjoyed a drinks reception, a sumptuous meal, entertainment, and, of course, the award ceremony itself. This was the fourth instalment of the awards, with the first being held back in 2018. Last year’s event was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic, meaning this was the first time in two years that this event was able to take place.

The Casino Awards focuses on the achievements of land-based operators and suppliers and this time handed out awards in 20 categories. As a leading land-based supplier, IGT always performs well during these awards and it once again scooped some of the night’s biggest awards. This included winning the Best Slot Game for the second time in a row, this time for its Regal Riches with Progressive Wilds Feature slot machine. 2022 has also marked the first time the firm has won the Best Slot Machine Award (PeakSlant 32 Cabinet), Best New Innovative Product (Floor Manager), and Best Diversity and Inclusion Employer.

The latest in a long line of gambling industry awards: April has been a month full of industry awards. Just recently, we saw iGaming firms walk away with accolades at the Global Gaming Awards and the International Gaming Awards (IGA). Pragmatic Play Live, SA Gaming, and OnAir Entertainment were among the live casino suppliers that scooped awards.

Scientific Games and The Hippodrome Casino Also Took Home Proud Awards at The Casino Awards 2022

The Hippodrome in London’s illustrious west end is another that is a regular winner at The Casino Awards. This time the popular land-based casino took home two awards. The Hippodrome Casino won the best Independent Casino Operator award for the 4th time in a row and the Best Use of Online Award. As for Scientific Games, a brand equally as known for its land-based solutions as it is for its iGaming products, the firm won the Best CMS/Software Programme award for its Unified Wallet program. Other winners at The Casino Awards include both the Holland Casino, which took down two awards, the Casino de Monte Carlo, Neccton, and Interblock. Other awards handed out on the night include the Corporate Community Engagement Award, which went to Grosvenor Casinos Russell Square, Best Table Gaming Product, Best Marketing Programme, Rising Star, and the Best Casino Seating product.

Although the 2022 The Casino Awards are now done and dusted, the organisers have already set their sights on the next event. The date is already set for the 7th of February 2023, so if this is an event that interests, get ready to pre-book your tickets when they come available.
