On the land-based casino scene, the European Gaming Awards 2023 event, one we often overlook, presented awards to several companies also involved in the live casino iGaming vertical.

The event has three award categories, which are ‘Product’ (8 Awards), ‘Operator’ (5 Awards), and ‘Industry’ (8 Awards) dishing out a total of 21 prize accolades to honour brilliance in land-based casino gaming.

And we saw big names take home trophies including Merkur GmbH, Rank Croup, Novomatic, IGT, DigiWheel (Evolution), TCSJOHNHUXLEY, the Hippodrome Casino and more!

The Global Gaming Awards treated attendees with a drinks reception and a meal with fine wine before the awards ceremony kicked off. Following the celebrations, there was live entertainment giving all brands attending the event a chance to to network with peers, press, colleagues and friends.

When and Where was the European Gaming Awards 2023 event? All awards were announced at the The Grand Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden on 7 February 2023 one day after the International Gaming Awards and Global Gaming Awards, and on the same day ICE London 2023 kicked off.

Winners we know from live casino gaming!

Evolution came out with an award from the ‘Best Products’ category via the company’s land-based game show brand, Digiwheel. Evolution acquired Digiwheel in 2021 and has used the synergy of its land-based and live casino wheel of fortune innovation to enhance both online and offline game show-style gambling.

TCSJOHNHUXLEY also took an award. Founded in the UK, this is the leading global manufacturer and supplier of physical gaming equipment and services with a strong reputation in the gaming industry as a trusted supplier of top-notch products and services. In particular, the company supplier live casino software providers such as Pragmatic Play Live and Evolution with their wheels of fortune equipment, roulette wheels, gaming tables, chips, playing cards, and table game accessories.

And one of my favourite names in land-based gambling also came out with a trio of awards from the ‘Operator Awards’ category.

The Hippodrome Casino, in my opinion, is by far the best land-based casino venue in the UK. It has a relaxed (ish) dress code, you can walk in without having to sign up for a membership, and it is also home to Evolution roulette tables played online via ‘Dual Play’. On top of this, if you like poker, then upstairs has PokerStars Live poker tables. Not only is the casino itself fantastic, it is also in London’s West End right next to China Town and near to a great pub called the Porcupine, where you grab food and pale ales.

Hippodrome 2023 Award Wins: It's only the 11th of February and the Hippdrome Casino has already bagged four awards this year. On top of the three European Gaming Awards accolades, the casino also win the ‘Land-Based Casino of the Year' at the Global Gaming Awards 2023. The casino also won the award in 2021 and 2022.
