Admittedly, the live casino news scene has been quiet for over a year, but last month and up to now, we have seen a complete post-pandemic revival of the scene with tons of news reports from the top brands in the industry. Therefore, we decided to take a look back at the past half a year in a special ‘Live Casino News Catch Up’!

BetGames Cancels Rock Paper Scissors: One of the most shocking pieces of news is the cancellation of the table game Rock Paper Scissors. BetGames admit the game is no longer appealing to its customer base and as such it will no longer feature. This brings the BetGames collection from 12 live titles down to 11 for the time being.

Evolution: One of the most progressive and unsurprisingly so. Cash or Crash lotto-style title and Fan Tan have hit the brand’s game studios, and we have also seen the introduction of the exciting Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt live. On top of this, Evolution has been pleasing its Blackjack fans with Lightning Baccarat and its baccarat fanatics with Golden Wealth Baccarat and Red Envelope Baccarat titles both of which offer bonus money to spice up the entertainment.

Ezugi: It’s been a great month for Ezugi with the release of 2 games. It has been a while since the brand brought anything new to the table. In just 1 month, we saw the new Cricket War game title mimicking Dragon Tiger but for cricket fans, and the brand-new high roller table Salon Prive blackjack. This is the first time we hear from the brand since June 2021, when it brought 32 Cards and Lucky 7 online.

Pragmatic Play Live: What a month for Pragmatic Play. Finally, its Sweet Bonanza Candyland game title is online. This is one of the brand’s biggest pushes into the ‘live casino game show’ scene since it released Mega Wheel and Quantum Roulette titles that match Evolution’s Dreamcatcher and Lighting Roulette while its new Sweet Bonanza Candyland gives Crazy Time a run for its money. On top of this, Pragmatic Play just released its One Blackjack 2 Indigo title which also comes with 2,000x multipliers.

Who will release the next live game title? We are fairly certain that Quik Game will soon release another lotto-style live game before the end of the year.

Some Brands Still Remain Quiet with Slight Hints of Recovery

Of course, with the pandemic causing governments to lockdown, many live dealer studios could not run at their usual optimal level. It also meant office staff had to work from home, and it took a while for companies to understand how to become creative as a virtual team. This caused a huge delay in new live game releases.

  • Playtech: Playtech has been quiet, probably because its in the midst of a buyout deal with Aristocrat. And it looks like that deal is going to do through because the main interested party challenging Aristocrat pulled out of the race. This year the brand did drop one live game onto the scene, though, and that was its Money Drop live game show title.
  • BetConstruct: The quietest brand on the live casino scene. Pre-pandemic we saw the first and only Live Pai Gow Poker table hit the BetConstruct live games’ portfolio. However, the brand did release ‘Free Bet Blackjack’ this year, which gives away free bets on double downs and splits. Its other release was Express Roulette in August, which is a unique title that will pay out 1,000x multiplier if a player can land the same results across 2 tables.
  • Vivo Gaming: Although not a brand known for continuous game releases, we have not seen much out of Vivo this year. The last we heard from the brand was when it struck a deal with Red Rake Gaming, a well-known software provider, to use its platform to deliver live GTML5 games to online casinos using Red Rake Gaming.

Newcomer on the scene: Keep your eyes open for the new kid on the block. On Air Entertainment has its first live game released beginning with 7 blackjack tables. Now the brand will be looking, or partnership deals with casino operators and software platforms such as SoftSwiss and Soft2Bet.
